It suited us down to the ground on price / location etc.. Also staff very helpful when we needed to re-book following the volcanic dust cloud emergency.
The location is great, right next to Larios street and only a couple of minutes walk from the Cathedral, 15 from beach. There are loads of places to eat/drink nearby. The room was nice and spacious, clean, good air con and wireless internet worked perfectly. I had ensuite. I found the staff sweet as well but I do speak Spanish so I'm not sure what they're like if they don't speak your language much.
The shower holder was broken but not a massive problem. Overall I'd definitely recommend.
Hostal Victoria had very friendly staff. Our room was very nice, just off Calle Larios - the main street in Malaga. It was well priced for Easter week when we went, other properties in the center of town were very high priced for the same location. We were able to store our luggage here all day, our last day.
Staff didnt speak English and I didnt speak Spanish, but they were very friendly and helpful. TV in my room didnt work the first night and it was sorted out straight away.
Location is perfect. Hotel is average, a bit smokey, no fridge in room, but overall value for money.
I thought I was booking double room but got a twin. Was a bit of a cigarette smoke smell in room.
Perfect location. Very close to the center and to the beach, next to the beautiful park. Many caffees/restaurants/bars around. The room was quite big and clean, little dark but we were there not to sit in the room. At least it was not hot inside
Staff speaking Spanish only. It was realy uncomfortable, e.g. we did not have a hot water in the bathroom and we had a problem to explain that
The two front desk clerks were very friendly and ready to support us with anything during our stay. Also, it is located within the city center, close to the port in case you are cruising and a walking distance to restaurants, main attractions and shopping areas.
The excellent location and the pleasant, albeit small rooms.
its next to the main street, really good location
The location is outstanding: in the very centre, walking time to the beach is 15 min, 10 min by bus to the bus and railway stations. Nevertheless absolutely quiet in the night, since there is no bars and restaurants on this street.
The hotel falls short of modern standards: the unpleasant smell in the room, which is to small and narrow. The receptionists dont speak English. There was no city map in the reception.
The staff were very friendly and it was centrally located within Malaga. It gave easy access for shopping and was close to the bus station and the train station; only a fifteen minute walk from both.
We requested a double room with ensuite but recieved a twin room ensuite instead.
The location of the hotel is excellent - right off of the main pedestrian street in Malaga- lots of restaurants and stores nearby. The staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel feels very safe.
The rooms are rather small and turning on the TV is a complicated experience.
The hotel is central in Malaga and a good economical stopping off point when arriving or leaving Spain via Malaga Airport that allows you to visit Malaga's own attractions. Particularly enjoyed being there when Spain won the World Cup this year.
Hostal Victoria is in an excellent location in the centre of Malaga, close to the old town, beach and main shopping areas.
Excellent location in the heart of the main shopping streets and yet only a short walk from the beach. We stayed twice as the location was perfect and the price was very reasonable.
